Toronto Summer Music Academy started in 2007 is focused on enhancing music performance skills and offers a series of intimate and highly focused workshops, individual master classes, chamber music coaching, percussion and opera workshops, and student performance opportunities.
The Academy gives young musicians who are at the threshold of their careers an opportunity to study with a Faculty of the highest quality and reputation, learning from the Faculty’s experience and musicianship. The Academy Faculty has been drawn from internationally acclaimed artists from across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
With limited enrollment, the study is intimate, varied and intense, giving students ample opportunity to interact with the Faculty and other emerging professionals.
The 2007 Toronto Summer Music Festival runs concurrently with the Academy program and features over sixty Canadian and international artists in concerts, eight student concerts, a fully-staged opera with orchestra, workshops, and lectures. The theme of the 2007 Festival is In the Magical World of Music which will explore the ways music affects our moods and emotions.
